Stewardship is at the heart of CCF’s mission to the Ada, Cascade and Forest Hills community and is revealed in the foundation’s drive to serve nonprofits, small businesses, and families. In the same way, the Friends of CCF committee recognizes individuals and families who exemplify this characteristic through the Trailblazer Award, honoring a lifetime of giving with a philanthropic spirit.

David & Karen Custer and the Custer family

Throughout their journey in life David and Karen Custer have walked beside our community, quietly helping in immeasurable ways. They have generously supported countless nonprofits, while lending ideas and expertise to foster innovation. Of course, Dave is also the founder of Custer, Inc., a company that helps you transform your space, elevate your wellbeing, and reinvent your surroundings... fitting given how closely those characteristics befit their philanthropic spirit. 

And, through Custer, Inc, David and Karen, have passed-on a responsibility to their children Todd, Scott, and Mark, while steadfastly advancing an expectation for community stewardship, helping to define what "generational philanthropy" looks like.
