2023 Nonprofit of the Year Winner - Brody's be Cafe

CCF commands quality, not only from its own programming and services offered to the community, but from the nonprofits awarded through the Joyce & Thomas Wisner Fund. A 20-year-long list of grant awardees ranges from emergency funding for addiction & mental health services, to fun causes like summer camp scholarships, to innovative programs like music-based therapy for seniors... each filling an urgent gap.  With this in mind, CCF's Nonprofit of The Year Award is designated to an organization that demonstrates exemplary service to filling urgent needs in our community throughout the year.

Brody's be Cafe

Inspired by Brody Cole - who was born with Down syndrome - Brody's be Cafe dares to challenge the status quo that puts people like him on the sideline. The hopes and dreams to have a valued career begins at a be Cafe where a customized curriculum guides "Beristas" through vocational training transferable to local employers.

Brody's be Cafe is a nonprofit coffee shop offering meaningful employment to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is coffee with a purpose.
